History will be made at Doncaster!

Britain’s oldest Classic takes centre stage as four days of outstanding racing return to Doncaster—and the St Leger Festival Dream Yard Competition is now ready for your selections.

First run in 1776, the St Leger celebrates 250 years of racing history in 2026. From Allabaculia and West Australian to Nijinsky and Oh So Sharp, Town Moor has witnessed some of the sport’s most enduring achievements. Now a new generation of horses, trainers and jockeys will compete for their own place in Doncaster history.

Four days. One Dream Yard.

The festival offers everything needed for a compelling Dream Yard competition:

  • Classic glory in the St Leger
  • An exacting stamina test in the Doncaster Cup
  • High-speed juvenile action in the Flying Childers Stakes
  • Competitive handicaps with valuable Racing Silks Points available
  • Leading trainers and jockeys battling across the entire meeting

Doncaster’s long home straight rewards horses that travel strongly and sustain their challenge. Autumn conditions can place an even greater emphasis on stamina, balance and proven soft-ground form, while jockeys must judge the pace carefully and choose precisely when to commit.

Who will lead your yard?

Recent statistics provide plenty for Dream Yard players to consider.

Aidan O’Brien, Roger Varian and John and Thady Gosden offer a potent combination of winners, strike rate and Racing Silks Points. Andrew Balding’s runners have accumulated more RSP than any other trainer in our meeting data, while Jim Goldie and Simon and Ed Crisford provide intriguing alternatives.

Among the jockeys, Oisin Murphy is the standout performer, with eight winners and 895 RSP from 34 rides. Tom Marquand brings opportunity and volume, William Buick offers exceptional efficiency, and Robert Havlin’s impressive strike rate could make him a valuable alternative.

Will you follow the established leaders—or find the overlooked combination that delivers the biggest score?
